Frequently Asked Questions
Is the output text selectable?
No. Each page is rendered as a high-resolution image, similar to a scan, so the PDF looks like the original book but its text isn't selectable, searchable, or copyable. This is a necessary trade-off for a tool that runs entirely in your browser without a server-side rendering engine.
Will formatting and images be preserved?
Yes — chapter CSS and embedded images are read and rendered along with the text, so styled text, fonts, and images generally carry over. Very complex or unusual EPUB layouts may not render perfectly.
How are pages split?
Each chapter is rendered in full, then sliced into Letter-sized pages (8.5×11in) from top to bottom. Chapters always start on a fresh page.
Is my EPUB uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing, rendering, and PDF assembly all happen locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does it work with DRM-protected EPUBs?
No. DRM-protected files are encrypted and can't be read without the corresponding license — this tool only works with standard, unprotected EPUB files.
